Why we started Siembra?
European industry is built on decades of innovation, engineering skills, and manufacturing know-how. Every day, we depend on the physical products it creates — whether it’s life-saving medical tools, the small electronics in our pockets, or the powerful machines working behind the scenes. These industries don’t just power the economy — they shape how we live, work, and move through the world. At the heart of this industrial strength lies an often invisible force: the supply chain. Behind every product are thousands of components, sourced from a vast network of suppliers. In fact, industrial companies spend more than 50% of their revenue in suppliers for procurement items.
At the heart of this industrial strength lies an often invisible force: the supply chain. Behind every product are thousands of components, sourced from a vast network of suppliers. In fact, more than 50% of a product’s cost and emissions come from its supply chain.
But today, supply chains are under pressure like never before. Over the past two decades, they’ve become more complex. Products rely on thousands of parts sourced globally. Supplier networks have multiplied. And the external world has become more volatile — shaped by geopolitical tensions, climate events, and fast-moving regulations. The result? Disruptions, sanctions, compliance failures, and reputational risks — often striking without warning. And yet, most companies still try to manage this rising complexity with manual processes, Excel spreadsheets, and outdated ERP systems. It’s not just inefficient — it’s dangerous.
We believe all this pressure can actually become an opportunity. With the right tools, supply chains can turn from a weak spot into a real strength — something that helps companies grow, stay resilient, and make more sustainable decisions.
This is why we built Siembra, the native-AI procurement platform to help procurement teams mitigate supplier risk and optimize their spend.
Who we are
We’re Matthieu, Mathis, and Manu — three engineers with a shared vision.
Matthieu and Manu met at EPFL. Matthieu and Mathis met later at Qonto. We’ve worked together on different projects before, and we think that, if used well, technology can transform procurement and create real, positive impact for companies.
Today, we tackle the core challenge of every procurement team: smarter spending with trusted, sustainable suppliers.
